BC Women's Basketball Suffers First CUNYAC Loss of Season at Lehman

Bulldogs Lose to Lightning for First Time in Eight Years

Bronx, NY----Brooklyn College Women's Basketball dropped their first conference loss of the season at the hands of Lehman College, 69-59, on the road on Friday.  The loss snaps a 12-game win-streak against the Lightning.  

Brooklyn (6-8, 2-1 CUNYAC) suffers their first conference loss of the season, while the Lehman College Lightning (7-6, 3-0 CUNYAC) remains undefeated in conference play.

How It Happened

Brooklyn would come out strong in the first quarter, going up by as many as ten points after a 8-0 run put them up 15-5 with 1:16 left in the first quarter, eventually leading 15-8 by the end of it.

After a layup by Anna Kitch would put the Bulldogs up by nine with 7:34 left, the Lightning would go on a strong run that would put them in the driver's seat, a 20-2 run that would put them up 34-25 at the half.

Brooklyn would get as close as four, but Lehman would always go on another tear, winning the game by a score of 69-59.

For the Bulldogs

  • Anna Kitch led the way offensively, finishing with a team-high 15 points and came close to a another double-double, grabbing 9 rebounds.  She also came up with a pair of steals and blocked a shot.  
  • Dior Dorsey added 12 points and grabbed 7 boards on the evening.  
  • Aleah Rafat chipped in 9 points and came up with 3 steals.  

Up next, the Brooklyn College women's basketball team will continue on the road in conference play with the Hunter College Hawks on Wednesday, January 15th at 5:00pm.
