Bulldogs Ground Cardinals

Brooklyn, NY----With five players reaching double-figures in scoring on the evening, the Brooklyn College women's basketball team cruised to an 85-32 over York at home on Friday.  Brooklyn moves to 7-9 overall and 3-2 in CUNYAC with the win while the Cardinals drop to 0-11 and 0-5 respectively.  Next Up: Brooklyn looks to keep their momentum going in conference play at Medgar Evers on Wednesday, 1/22, at 5pm.  

How it Happened
  • With score tied, 2-2 in the first thirty seconds of play, Brooklyn made their move quickly, going on a 15-0 run for a 17-2 advantage with 55 seconds left in the opening period.  
  • BC continued to roll roll in the second period, leading by as many as 26 points in the first half.  
  • The Bulldogs cracked the game wide open in the third period, outscoring the Cardinals 32-9.  
  • Brooklyn took their largest lead of the contest, 85-30, late in the fourth period.  
  • BC forced 43 York turnovers leading to 51 points.  
  • The Bulldogs kept the Cardinals to 25.6% shooting from the field.  
For the Bulldogs
  • Dior Dorsey scored 13 points, grabbed 5 rebounds, dished out 6 assists, and came up 3 steals. 
  • Freshman guard, Audrey Waldvogel, scored a career-high 13 points and came up with 4 steals.  
  • Freshman forward, Danae McMullen, came off the bench to score 12 points and grab 9 rebounds.  
  • Cheyenne Castellano also provided a spark off of the BC bench, finishing with a season-high 10 points and grabbing 5 rebounds.  
  • Brianna Gutierrez chipped in 10 points.
