Annandale-on-Hudson, NY-----Following their first win of the season on Thursday, the Brooklyn College men's volleyball team dropped a pair of matches in a non-conference trimatch at Bard College on Saturday. In the first match of the day, the Bulldogs were defeated by the host, 3-0 (25-22, 25-14, 25-17), before falling to Manhattanville College, 3-1 (25-16, 17-25, 25-20, 25-15). Brooklyn moves to 1-3 overall with the pair of non-conference losses. Next Up: Brooklyn continues their road stretch to start the season locally on Tuesday at St. Joseph's Brooklyn at 7pm.
How It Happened VS Bard
- Despite being tied, 16-16, Bard put together a key five-score rally to take a 21-16 lead and eventually win the first set. With the score tied, 4-4, in the second set, the home team took the lead for good beginning with five straight scores. Trailing 15-7 in the third set, Brooklyn made a valiant effort to avoid the sweep, rallying for six straight scores sparked by back-to-back kills. However, the Raptors would respond with their own five-point rally, kicking their lead back up to seven.
- The Raptors finished with 10 service aces to the Bulldogs' 2 for the match. Bard also finished with a sizeable advantage in kills, 41-24.
- Both teams came up with 24 digs each.

How It Happened VS Manhattanville
- After dropping the first set, the Bulldogs tied the match, 1-1, thanks in part to a four-point rally to take a 21-15 lead. The run was sparked by an Armand Kaloshi kill. A closely contested third set, the Valiants scored the final three points of the set to retake the lead in the match. Already leading 12-8, MC took complete control of the match beginning with a seven-score rally.
- Manhattanville was the more efficient team offensively, finishing with a .286 hitting percentage to the Bulldogs' .148. Brooklyn was the better team defensively at the net, totaling 8 blocks to the Valiants' 4.
- The Valiants' served up 9 aces to Brooklyn's 3.

- Siu led the way with a match-high 14 kills. He also served up all of Brooklyn's aces.
- Calderon added 11 kills to his day.
