BC Men's Basketball Takes Tough Loss to Baruch At Home

Bulldogs Lose Second Conference Game

BROOKLYN, New York ------ Coming into the second game of the year and second conference game of the season, the Brooklyn College men's basketball team would go toe-to-toe with the Baruch College Bearcats in Wednesday night's conference match. Although they would put up a fight, going as far as leading at one point, the Bulldogs would come up short as they would drop their second conference match against the Bearcats 62-53.

The Brooklyn College Bulldogs (4-8, 0-2 CUNYAC) continue to search for their first conference victory, while the Baruch College Bearcats (5-8, 2-0 CUNYAC) remain undefeated in conference play.

How It Happened

The first half would have both teams going at each other with a total of seven lead changes in the time span. With Brooklyn leading 21-18 with 5:35 to go after a jumpshot from Jaden Casanova, Baruch would respond by ending the half on an 11-0 run to take a 29-21 lead into halftime.

In the second half, the Bulldogs would rally themselves back into the game. With the Bulldogs being down 30-21, they would go on an extensive 10-0 run that would allow them to take their first lead since the first half by a score of 31-30 with 14:24 to go.

However, the Bearcats would go on a 9-0 run of their own, securing the lead for good with 10:05 to go. Despite a late a three-pointer from Casanova that bought the Bulldogs within three with 2:09 to go, they were unable to get a stop as they would drop the game 62-53.
