New Rochelle, NY---Winners of their last two matches, the Brooklyn College men's soccer team played to a 1-1 tie on the road against Baruch on Wednesday on Opening Day in the CUNYAC. The Bulldogs move to 5-4-1 with the draw while the Bearcats go to 1-3-3. Next Up: The Bulldogs host 2024 CUNYAC Champion, Hunter, on Saturday, October 4, at 12pm, on Brooklyn College Field.
Brooklyn struck first in the 16' as freshman forward,
Andrew Gavrilov, scored his eighth goal of the season on an assist from junior midfielder,
Adan Khodorkovsky. The Bulldogs out-shot the Bearcats, 6-3, in the first half to maintain a 1-0 halftime advantage.
The Bulldogs remained on top, 1-0, until Baruch's
Rayan Vukovic scored the equalizer in the 72'. Despite Bauch being the busier team offensively, the Bulldogs were able to withstand their late efforts.
Brooklyn freshman goalie,
Wilson Munoz, collected a pair of saves in all 90 minutes of work.
Yassin Hairane also had a shot-on-goal for Brooklyn on the afternoon.
