BC Women's Soccer Plays Against Kean

Bulldogs Losing Streak Extends to Eight

BROOKLYN, New York ------ Coming into their final non-conference match, the Brooklyn College women's soccer would be home to go head-to-head with the Kean University Cougars. Though the Bulldogs would put up a fight, they would be downed by a score of 6-1.

The Brooklyn College Bulldogs (2-9-0) have now lost the last eight games that they have played this season, while the Kean University Cougars (6-4-1) add another victory over a team from the CUNYAC conference.

Kean would come out guns blazing, scoring off a through ball from the middle of the field to score a quick goal at 5' to take an early 1-0 lead.

Brooklyn's goalie, Sage Bernstein would face 13 shots in the first half alone, making all 4 of her saves in the process, including a few down the bottom center at 17' and 18'.

Chelsea Gonzalez would have the Bulldogs' first shot on goal, forcing a dive to the bottom left by the Kean goalie at 19'.

Unfortunately, the offense proved too strong in the first half, as the game would go into halftime with a 5-0 score.

The Bulldogs appeared more motivated in the second half, pressuring for the possession of the ball more. With Audrey Jane Young checking in for the second half, the Bulldogs would push the ball forward early on, as Young would attack from the left wing to find Alyssa Hardison, who would beat the goalie one-on-one to score and avoid the shutout 5-1 at 47'.

The Cougars would get one more goal at the 62', but the Bulldogs would hold off defensively for the rest of the game to keep it 6-1 for the final score.

Up next, the Brooklyn College women's soccer team will begin conference play against the York College Cardinals on Saturday, October 11th at 12:00pm.
