Brooklyn, NY----Improving to 2-0 to start the season, the Brooklyn College women's basketball team cruised to an 82-32 non-conference victory over Yeshiva in the Bulldogs' Home Opener on Wednesday. It was Yeshiva's Season Opener. Next Up: Brooklyn heads to Manhattanville on Friday for a 7pm tilt against the Valiants.
Trailing 3-2 early in the game, Brooklyn went on a 19-0 run to close out the first quarter ending on an
Anna Kitch fast-break lay-in. BC continued to roll for the rest of the first half grabbing a 39-7 halftime advantage.
The Bulldogs forced 37 Maccabee turnovers on the evening, scoring 37 points off of turnovers on the evening. BC junior guard,
Brianna Jackson finished with seven steals for the game to go along with six points and six assists.
Brooklyn shot 45.6% from the field for the game while keeping YU to 22.9% shooting for the game.
Twelve players for Brooklyn reached the scoring column for BC on the evening.
Dior Dorsey and
Sheily Quezada led the way with 12 points each. Dorsey also dished out 6 assists, grabbed 6 rebounds, and came up with 4 steals. Quezada also grabbed 6 boards and blocked a pair of YU shots. Kitch finished with her second straight double-double, totaling10 points and a game-high 14 rebounds.
