Bulldogs Tripped Up at Drew in Regular Season Finale

Madison, NJ----Playing their last regular season match on the road, the Brooklyn College women's volleyball team fell at Drew University, 3-0 (25-17, 25-17, 25-21), on Thursday.  Brooklyn enters the upcoming CUNYAC Championship Tournament with a 12-15 overall record while the Rangers improved to 9-21.  Next Up: The No. 3 Bulldogs will host No. 6 Lehman in the conference tournament quarterfinals on Tuesday, 11/11, at 6pm at the West Quad Center.

With the Bulldogs keeping it even with the home team halfway through the first set, Drew began to pull away beginning with a four-point rally to take a 17-12 lead.  The Rangers hit .235 as a team to the Bulldogs' .135 in the first set.

BC played catch-up the majority of the second set as the Rangers jumped out to a 4-1 advantage.

Trailing 20-16 in the third set, Brooklyn made a late push with a three-score rally highlighted by kills put away by senior libero, Ruti Joshi, and freshman outside hitter, Saule Okeke-Ziburkus to pull within a point of the home team.  However, the Rangers responded with back-to-back scores of their own to push their lead back up to three.

Drew served up 10 aces to the Bulldogs' two on the evening.

BC freshman right side, Ella Sbnobar, led the offensive attack for Brooklyn finishing with a match-high 10 kills.  Joshi led the way on the ground with a match-high 14 digs to go along with 6 assists.
