Bronxville, NY----The Brooklyn College women's basketball team outscored Sarah Lawrence 48-19 in the second half, cruising to a 77-51 win in both teams' season openers on the road on Friday night. Next Up: Brooklyn hosts their Home Opener on Wednesday, 11/12, against Yeshiva University at 5pm at the West Quad Gymnasium.
Trailing the Gryphons 32-29 at halftime, the Bulldogs opened the second half on a 15-0 run sparked by a three-pointer knocked down by junior guard,
Victoria Kantzian. Brooklyn outscored Sarah Lawrence 24-6 in the third quarter.
The Bulldogs continued to cruise in the second half, closing out the game on a 6-0 run for their largest advantage of the contest. Brooklyn held the home team to 34% shooting from the floor for the game. BC shot well from the charity stripe as a team, going 16-20 for the game.
BC junior forward,
Anna Kitch, led the way with a game-high 15 points while grabbing 19 rebounds. In her BC debut,
Brianna Jackson added 12 points and came up with 5 steals. Sophomore forward,
Danae McMullen, scored 11 points off of the bench on 5-7 shooting from the field.
Adunoluwa Akinduyi also provided a spark off of the Brooklyn bench, finishing with 10 points on 4-6 shooting from the field.
