Dartmouth, MA----Moving to 0-2 to start the 2025-26 Season, the Brooklyn College men's basketball team fell to Worcester State, 87-52, in the consolation game on the second day of the UMass Dartmouth Tip-Off Tournament on Sunday. The Lancers improved to 1-1 overall with th win. Next Up: Brooklyn will look to bounce back from the weekend on Wednesday in their Home Opener against SUNY New Paltz at 7:15 pm.
The Bulldogs held their final lead of the contest following a three-pointer drained by sophomore guard,
Muneer Ibrahem, with 16:01 to go in the first half before the WSU responded with an 8-0 run. WSU took their first double-figure lead of the game halfway through the first half. The Lancers then went on a 10-0 run to take a commanding 42-17 lead with a little over two minutes to play in the first half. WSU shot 40% (6-15) as a team from behind in the arc in the first half.
Brooklyn scored first in the second half on a
Joe Charles made jumper. However, the Lancers responded with seven unanswered points for a 52-25 lead with just under 18 minutes to play in regulation. WSU shot 50.7% from the field for the game to the Bulldogs' 29.7%.
Daniel Wondie finished with 12 points in 14 minutes of action for WSU, shooting 4-9 from beyond the arc for the game.
Ibrahem and Charles both finished with 9 points for the game. Ibrahem also dished out 3 assists and grabbed 3 boards. Charles knocked 3 three-pointers on thr afternoon. Senior guard,
Thomas Hall grabbed a game-high 8 rebounds for the contest.
