BC Women's Basketball Runs Away With Win On the Road Against York

Bulldogs Trample Cardinals In Conference Win

JAMAICA, New York ------ Coming into Tuesday evening's conference game, the Brooklyn College women's basketball team would look to continue their conference success and hope to find some on the road against the York College Cardinals. Fortunately, the Bulldogs would come out strong with a convincing start to put the Cardinals away 63-26.

The Brooklyn College Bulldogs (12-11, 9-4 CUNYAC) attain a winning record, continuing their success in the conference overall, while the York College Cardinals (2-15, 2-10 CUNYAC) have now lost the last two conference games as they continue to fight in the conference standings.

How It Happened

After York broke a 4-0 run with a three-point shot with 8:23 to go in the first quarter, Brooklyn would proceed to go on a 14-0 run that would break the game through 18-3 with 2:16 left in the first quarter. Eventually, Brooklyn would find themselves up 23-7 after one.

The Bulldogs would expand their lead with two 9-0 runs, taking a 41-11 lead into halftime.

Brooklyn's defense would hold York to single digits in the first three quarters, taking a commanding 55-16 lead.

York would finally score double digits in the fourth quarter with ten, but Brooklyn's lead was too much to overcome with a 63-26 victory.

For the Bulldogs

  • Dior Dorsey led the way with 13 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 steals on 6-of-8 shooting.
  • Alina Estrella would be the only other player in double figures with 12 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 steals.
