New York, NY----Continuing conference play in a CUNYAC trimatch on Saturday at John Jay, the Brooklyn College men's volleyball team was unsuccessful in both matches, falling to the host, 3-0 (25-19, 25-21, 26-24), before dropping their second contest of the day, 3-0 (25-19, 25-17, 25-11). BC moves to 5-11 (1-3 CUNYAC) overall with the losses. Next Up: Brooklyn will look to bounce back in CUNYAC play at Lehman on Tuesday, 3/4, at 7:30 pm.
How It Happened
- Brooklyn trailed 20-19 in the first set against John Jay, before the Bloodhounds closed it out on a five-score rally. The Bloodhounds jumped out to 4-1 lead to start the second set and kept a comfortable cushion before BC rallied late for three-straight scores, but came up short. Trailing 24-19 in the third set, BC rallied for five straight scores that included back-to-back Aaron Siu kills. However, the Bloodhounds won the match on a pair of Brooklyn attack errors.
- John Jay hit .212 to BC's .065 for the match. Both teams finished with 7 total blocks.
- With Brooklyn leading 6-5 early in the first set against Hunter, the Hawks would retake the lead for good beginning with seven answered scores. Already leading 8-6, the Hawks rallied for four straight scores to put the second set out of reach for the Bulldogs. The Hawks would then go into cruise control in the third and final set of the match.
- Hunter served up 13 aces to the Bulldogs' three for the match.

- Siu finished with a match-high 13 kills and 5 digs against John Jay.
- Joaquin Calderon put away 18 kills on the day with 10 against John Jay.
