Bronx, NY---The Brooklyn College men's volleyball team bounced back from a pair of tough conference losses on Saturday by defeating Lehman College, 3-0 (25-22, 25-15, 25-18), in CUNYAC play on Tuesday. BC moves to 6-11 (2-3 CUNYAC) with the win on the road while the Lightning drops to 11-3 (3-3 CUNYAC). Next Up: Brooklyn returns home for a CUNYAC tilt with CCNY on Thursday at 6:30 pm.
How It Happened
- Clinging to a 22-21 lead in the opening set, Brooklyn scored three of the next four points including the game-winning kill put away by Jason Lin. Already leading 15-12 in the second set, Brooklyn created more separation with a three-score rally sparked by an Aaron Siu kill. The Bulldogs closed out the second set on a four-score run that included back-to-back kills put away by Lin and Armand Kaloshi. Trailing 9-7 in the third set, Brooklyn took the lead for good beginning with a 5-0 run highlighted by consecutive aces served up by David Lema. Jiaian Flanders ended the match with a kill assisted by Lema.
- Brooklyn totaled 46 kills on the evening to the Lightning's 26. The Bulldogs were also the better team on the ground defensively, finishing with 52 digs to Lehman's 38.
For the Bulldogs
- Siu led the way with 12.5 points on 12 kills and a block assist. He also came up with 8 digs.
- Kaloshi also finished with 12 kills on the evening while hitting .360.
- Lema set for 38 assists, came up with 14 digs, and served up 3 aces.
