Brooklyn, NY----Opening their conference slate, the Brooklyn College softball team dropped both games of a CUNYAC doubleheader at home to reigning conference champion, John Jay, on Wednesday. The visitors took Game 1, 10-0 (5 Innings), before wrapping up the evening with a 9-1 (6 Innings) victory. Today's losses snapped a six-game win-streak for the Bulldogs as they move to 8-11 (0-2 CUNYAC) while the Bloodhounds improve to 15-3 (2-0 CUNYAC). Next Up: BC will look to bounce back on Sunday, April 6, at Rutgers-Newark for a non-conference twin bill beginning at 12pm.
Game 1 | Brooklyn- 0, John Jay- 10 (5 Innings)
John Jay jumped out in front, 2-0, in the first inning before adding another pair of runs in second inning on an RBI triple and an RBI base hit.
Brooklyn infielder,
Zoey Van Vleet, gave the Bulldogs some life in the bottom of the second inning by knocking a double. However, was left stranded to end the inning.
The Bloodhounds took an 8-0 lead on an RBI single in the top of the fourth inning. They would tack on two more runs in the inning for the final score.
John Jay finished with 11 hits for the game and pitcher, Natalie Graham improved to 8-1 on the season with the win, yielding just Van Vleet's hit for the game.

Danielle Guzzardi, would move to 5-6 on the season with the loss.
Game 2 | Brooklyn- 1, John Jay- 9
Despite a solid showing in the circle for BC pitcher,
Molly Martin, the Bloodhound offense rallied in the top of the sixth inning, scoring five runs on four hits and an error. Brooklyn would score their lone run on the evening as
Vida Rodriguez flied out to center field to score Paige Alaia Palacios who walked early in the inning.
The Bulldogs came up short in the bottom of the fifth inning as
Aaliyah Vargas tried to take second after slapping a single to move
Sandra Diaz into scoring position at third, but was thrown out.
John Jay took a 2-0 lead in the first inning on an RBI triple and then an RBI single. The Bloodhounds scored two more runs in the top of the third inning on a 2-run homer over the left field fence.
A Rodriguez single in the bottom of the second inning would account for BC's second hit of the game.
John Jay pitcher, Lindsay Ogden, improved to 6-2 with the win while Martin dropped to 2-4.
