Brooklyn, NY---Advancing to their first CUNYAC semifinal appearance since 2017, the Brooklyn College men's volleyball team defeated York College, 3-0 (25-22, 25-10, 25-9), in the quarterfinals of the conference championship tournament on Tuesday at the West Quad Center. BC improves to 14-14 with the victory while York closes out their season with a 7-16 mark. No. 3 Brooklyn will now travel to No. 2 Hunter for Thursday's semifinal match at 6pm.
How It Happened
- Trailing 10-9 in the first set, the Bulldogs would take the lead for good beginning with a four-score rally that included a Yinuo Zhang ace and followed by an Aaron Siu kill. BC strung together another four-point rally to take a commanding 17-11 lead. York rallied late in the first set, but the Bulldogs had created enough of a cushion to close out the set.
- York scored the first two points of the second set before the Bulldogs strung together nine straight scores sparked by back-to-back Joaquin Calderon kills. Brooklyn cruised through the rest of the set ending with a Siu kill.
- BC would find themselves down again early in the third set, 3-2, before going on a 6-0 run. The rally was capped by back-to-back aces served up by Jiaian Flanders. Already leading 8-4, BC put the set and match completely out of reach for the Cardinals by going on a 12-0 run.
- Brooklyn served up 9 aces on the evening while only yielding a pair. BC hit an efficient .321 as a team to the Cardinals -.013.

- Siu finished with a match-high 14 kills and came up with 6 digs.
- Calderon added 9 kills to go along with 3 service aces and 7 digs.
- Senior setter, David Lema, finished with 29 assists to go along with 9 digs and a pair of kills.
- Jason Lin had 6 kills and a pair of blocks.
