Brooklyn, NY----Back on their home courts for the first time since September 2, the Brooklyn College women's tennis team dropped a 5-2 decision to Sarah Lawrence in non-conference action on Saturday. BC moves to 2-3 overall with the loss while the Gryphons improved to 3-2. Next Up: BC opens conference play at home against York College on Tuesday, 9/23, at 3pm on the Roosevelt Courts.
Alexis Goodman and
Medina Kuc gave the Bulldogs a 7-5 win at No. 1 doubles. However, the visitors took the doubles point with wins in the No. 2 and No. 3 slots.
Goodman was undefeated on the day, prevailing at top-flight singles, (6-2, 6-3).
Aniyah James was also successful toward the top of the lineup, pulling out a (7-5, 2-6, 6-4) win at No. 2 singles. Kuc had a strong showing at No. 3 singles, but fell (6-4, 5-7, 1-6).
Anabel Greenberg's match also went to three sets, but she was outlasted, (3-6, 6-4, 1-6).
