BC Men's Soccer Continues To Shine At Home Against Pratt

Bulldogs Take Down Cannoneers For Fourth Straight Victory At Home

BROOKLYN, New York ------ Coming into their fourth game at home, the Brooklyn College men's soccer team made it clear from the beginning of their pregame huddle that they wanted to defend their home turf properly against the Pratt Institute Cannoneers. Both teams historically have split their games evenly, beating each other once each and tying their first ever encounter. So, they would have to do so without some of their key players, specifically on offense. However, the motivation was shown by the players as they were able to bounce back to play a remarkable game at home and win it 2-0.

The Brooklyn College Bulldogs (4-4-0) remain undefeated at home, with all victories this season happening here on the Brooklyn College Field. Meanwhile, the Pratt Institute Cannoneers (0-6-1) remain hopeful in finding their first victory this season after a showing that showed some fight.

Pratt would be the first to put pressure, forcing Wilson Munoz to make an early save to his right in 6'.

Brooklyn's Emir Imamberdiev would first emerge on the attack at 16', forcing the Pratt goalkeeper to his bottom left for a save. A couple of minutes later, Yassin Hairane would find Imamberdiev for the first goal after a beautiful through pass that left him one-on-one with the goalie for the 1-0 score at 24'.

Seif Mokhtar would get a shot at his goal just a few minutes later, as he continued to push the offense from the wing only for his shot to be stopped by the Pratt goalkeeper at 27' after a hard shot. He would have 3 shots with 1 on target.

The Bulldogs would strike again with a similar combination, only this time it was Navruz Asatullaev who would put it up in the air for Hairane to control and send a quick pass over the defender to find Imamberdiev for the header, scoring his second goal of the game at 37'. He would end the game with 2 goals on 5 shots, 3 on target.

Koufos would get a shot at scoring right before the half, but his shot would hit the top of the woodwork, as another shot was taken to no avail at 44'.

The Cannoneers had their best opportunities to score in the second half. In 82', Munoz would face a hard shot, but he would save the clean sheet with a dive to his bottom left with the tips of his gloves to send it for a corner. The corner kick would find another attacker from the left side who would hit the top of the woodwork in the spot closest to the corner of the top of the goalposts keep the clean sheet at 83'.

Brooklyn would have one more chance at a goal with a rocket from Christopher Meza right off the bench, just outside the box that was barely saved off the top left corner by their new goalie who entered at the start of the second half at the 85' mark. The Bulldogs would keep possession there for a while with a bunch of corners, and would eventually ice the game 2-0.

Up next, the Brooklyn College men's soccer team goes on the road to face the Elms College Blazers on Saturday, September 27th at 1pm.
