BC Women's Volleyball Sweep Pratt For Third Straight Win

Bulldogs Complete Homestand Against Cannoneers With Victory

BROOKLYN, New York ------ Coming into the fifth game of the homestand, the Brooklyn College women's volleyball team looked to continue their positive stretch against a team they had not beaten since 2022 in the Pratt Institute Cannoneers. Despite a few scares throughout the game, the Bulldogs were able to walk away with a sweep [25-16, 25-21, 25-14] , winning their third straight game to conclude their five-game homestand and finally beating Pratt institute after three years. The Brooklyn College Bulldogs (7-6) have a winning record for the first time since the beginning of the season, winning their third in a row. Meanwhile, the Pratt Institute Cannoneers (0-10) continue to search for their first victory of the season.

How It Happened

Brooklyn would respond quickly despite the fact that Pratt would strike first, scoring the next five points to take a 5-1 lead. Pratt would come back and tie it at 10, but Brooklyn would once again proceed to outscore them 8-1, led by three aces served by Amra Mulic, propelling them to finish the set 25-16.

Once again, the Cannoneers would strike first, but the Bulldogs would respond to take a 12-5 lead midway through the second set. Towards the end of the set, the Cannoneers threatened to tie it and even take the lead, cutting the deficit to 22-21. However, the Bulldogs would close it out as Ayatallah Elkotby would serve for the first time in the game, propelling the Bulldogs to score three straight to end it 25-21.

After a few tied scores, the Cannoneers got within 16-14, but the Bulldogs would proceed to go on their longest run of the night to win it 25-14, scoring a game-high nine straight points led by three aces from Malia Reyes.
