Brooklyn, NY----The Brooklyn College men's volleyball team opened the 2026 Season on the right foot on Tuesday, rolling to a 3-0 (25-17, 25-21, 25-20) sweep at Pratt Institute. It was both teams' season opener. Next Up: BC will host their home opener against another non-conference borough foe on Thursday against St. Joseph's Brooklyn at 6pm.
Trailing 8-5 early in the first set, the Bulldogs came to life with an 8-0 rally capped by a kill put away by
Aaron Siu.
Joaquin Calderon ended the first set on a kill assisted by Siu. BC hit .360 to the Cannoneers' 0.0% in the first set.
With the home team leading, 14-12, in the second set, Brooklyn regained the lead for good beginning with a four-score rally. The Bulldogs made another key 3-0 run late in the set sparked by a Jiaian kill.
Brooklyn never trailed in the third set, jumping out to a 5-2 lead.
Gabriel Minchala ended the match with a kill assisted by
Miguel Trejo.
Calderon put away a match-high 10 kills and came up with 8 digs. Siu added 9 kills, came up with 5 digs, and served up a pair of aces. Trejo set for a match-high 28 assists and came up with 6 digs in his Bulldog debut.
