Brooklyn Outlasted at York

Jamaica, NY----Despite D'aze Hunter and Joe Charles scoring 22 points each, the Brooklyn College men's basketball team fell in conference play at York College, 81-74, on Wednesday night.  BC drops to 6-11 (4-3 CUNYAC) with their second straight loss while the Cardinals improved to 5-9 (5-2) on their home court.  Next Up: Brooklyn will look to get back in the win column at home against conference-leading Lehman on Friday at 7:15pm.  

Trailing 44-35 with 16:49 left in the second half, the Bulldogs battled back and went on a 13-0 run to take a 48-44 lead with 12:51 to go in regulation following a Charles layup.  BC would go on to lead 63-55 with 7:30 remaining in the second half after an Edmond Ruci layup.  However, the Cardinals responded with an 11-1 run to retake the lead, 68-64, with 4:46 left in the second half and kept BC at bay for the remainder of the game.  

The Cardinals outscored Brooklyn, 52-32, in the paint and finished with a 27-24 edge in points off of turnovers.  Jonte Wallace scored a game-high 25 points for the Cardinals.  

Brooklyn trailed by as many as 16 points in the first half.  However, they were able to cut the deficit down to as few as three points following a 13-0 run capped at the 4:34 mark after a Charles three-point make.  

Hunter grabbed  8 rebounds to go along with his 22 points.  Chalres shot 5-9 from behind the arc before fouling out.  Herbert Gary scored 7 points off of the bench for BC.
