Bulldogs Cruise to Fourth Straight Win at Medgar Evers

Brooklyn, NY----Remaining undefeated in conference play, the Brooklyn College women's basketball team rolled to their fourth straight win on Friday, defeating Medgar Evers, 90-35, on the road.  Brooklyn improves to 11-3 (4-0 CUNYAC) with the 'Battle of Bedford Avenue' victory while the Cougars drop to 2-12 (1-3 CUNYAC).  Next Up: Brooklyn travels to Hunter College on Wednesday, Jan. 14, for a rematch of the 2025 CUNYAC Championship game at 5pm.  

BC jumped out to a 12-0 lead to start the contest beginning with a Brianna Jackson three-point make on the Bulldogs' first offensive possession of the game.  Brooklyn's stifling full-court pressure kept MEC scoreless until 6:06 remaining in the opening quarter.  Brooklyn closed out the first half with a 48-23 advantage following a Victoria Kantzian layup with three seconds to go before halftime.  

The Bulldogs held the Cougars to just 12 points in the entire second half of play.  

Brooklyn outrebounded Medgar Evers, 43-11, on the offensive boards for the game.  The Bulldogs also scored 30 points off of 42 Cougar turnovers.  

Jackson finished with her second straight double-double, totaling a game-high 16 points while grabbing 10 rebounds, dishing out 4 assists, and coming up with 4 steals.  Kantzian scored a new high in her second season with BC, finishing with 13 points while coming up with 4 steals.  Adunoluwa Akinduyi scored 10 points, grabbed 6 rebounds, and came up with 5 steals in 13 minutes off of the bench.  Aaliyah McCalla also reached double-figures in scoring with 10 points on the evening.
