New York, NY----Brooklyn College Men's Volleyball rolled to a 3-0 (25-18, 25-14, 25-20) sweep at CCNY for their first CUNYAC victory of the season on Thursday. BC improves to 4-3 overall (1-1 CUNYAC) with the road win while the Beavers drop to 4-4 (0-2 CUNYAC). Next Up: The Bulldogs have a quick turnaround as they travel to New Jersey City for a another CUNYAC match on Friday, February 20, at 7pm.
Already leading 16-14 in the first set, the Bulldogs took full control following five straight scores beginning with an
Aaron Siu kill.
Armand Kaloshi closed out the set with a kill of his own. Brooklyn put away 12 kills to the Beavers' seven in the first set.
Brooklyn scored the first two points of the second set beginning with a
Joaquin Calderon kill. The Bulldogs took a 7-3 lead following a Matthew Kadatskiy kill and kept a comfortable cushion the remainder of the second set. Kadatskiy ended the second set with another kill assisted by
Miguel Trejo.
Trailing 8-4 early in the third set, BC put together a four-score rally to tie it up, 8-8. Brooklyn went on another four-point run to take a 15-12 advantage and keep the lead for the rest of the match. Calderon ended the match with a kill.
BC put away 39 kills to CCNY's 22 for the match. The Bulldogs also finished with a solid advantage at the service line, 9-5.
Nana Boateng and Gabriel Linus put away 8 kills each for CCNY.
Calderon led the way with 14.5 points on 11 kills, 3 aces, and a block assist. Trejo set for 33 assists and came up with 6 digs. Siu finsihed with 8 kills and came up with a match-high 13 digs. Kadatskiy added 7 kills for the Bulldogs.
