Brooklyn, NY-----Notching their tenth straight victory, the Brooklyn College women's basketball team cruised to a 90-46 conference victory at the West Quad Center over Medgar Evers on Tuesday. BC improves to 17-3 (10-0 CUNYAC) with the win while the Cougars drop to 2-18 (1-9 CUNYAC). Next Up: Brooklyn takes a break from conference play for a non-conference makeup at New Jersey City on Thursday at 7pm.
Brooklyn jumped out to a 9-0 lead in the first three minutes of play before grabbing their first double-digit lead of the contest, 12-2, following a
Dior Dorsey jumper. The Bulldogs grabbed a 24-8 advantage to end the first period.
The Bulldogs cracked the game wide open by going on a 14-0 run to start the second period.
Aaliyah McCalla highlighted the run with a three-point make. Brooklyn continued to cruise, taking a 56-14 halftime lead.
Brooklyn scored 48 points off of 40 Medgar Evers turnovers on the evening. The Bulldogs held the Cougars to 26.2% shhoting from the field for the game.
Moutiatou Djibring paced Medgar Evers with 17 points and grabbed a game-high 17 rebounds.
Dorsey finished with a team-high 17 points for BC. She also grabbed 6 rebounds, dished out 4 assists, and blocked 3 shots. Junior guard,
Brianna Jackson, added 13 points, dished out 7 assists, and came up with 4 steals. Sophomore guard,
Ameea Daniel, chipped in 10 points on 2-3 shooting from the floor and 6-7 from the free-throw line in 11 minutes of action.
