Jersey City, NJ----Extending their win-streak to eleven games, the Brooklyn College women's basketball team triumphed in their final non-conference contest of the regular season at New Jersey City University, 89-66, on Thursday night. Brooklyn improves to 18-3 with the win while the Gothic Knights dropped to 8-11. Next Up: The Bulldogs have a quick turnaround as they travel to CCNY on Friday, February 6, for a CUNYAC tilt at 5pm.
Brooklyn would go up ahead early on with a small lead, but back-to-back from
Brianna Jackson and
Anna Kitch would help steady the lead at ten, taking a 17-7 lead with 5:06 to go in the first quarter. This would eventually take them to a 24-14 lead after the first quarter of play.

The Gothic Knights would attempt to close the gap by scoring the first six points to open up the second quarter, bringing it 24-20 with 5:36 to go. However, the Bulldogs would respond by outscoring the Gothic Knights 14-4 for the rest of the quarter, including a fastbreak layup from
Anna Kitch with nine seconds to go, taking a 38-24 lead into halftime. This would propel
Anna Kitch to 19 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal, on 5-for-9 shooting from three, 6-for-8 overall.
Brooklyn's offense reached another gear in the third quarter, outscoring New Jersey City 35-23. An 8-0 run to open the half stretched the lead to 23 points, including a some offensive rebounding from
Ameea Daniel. Despite a 9-0 response from the hosts, Brooklyn's depth proved too much, re-extending their lead and ending the third quarter with another 12-0 run that included a buzzer-beating layup that would give Brooklyn a 73-47 advantage.

The Gothic Knights would get as close as sixteen, but the Bulldogs did everything they could to hold on to a large 20-point lead, winning it by twenty-three points to take it 89-66.
