Jamaica, NY-----Picking up their first win of the season, Brooklyn College Men's Tennis rolled to a 7-0 shutout of York College in their conference opener on the road on Thursday.  BC moves to 1-2 (1-0 CUNYAC) in victory while the Cardinals dropped their season opener in conference play.  Next Up: Brooklyn will look to keep their momentum going in the right direction as the team hosts Albertus Magnus on Saturday, March 21, in another CUNYAC match.  

Brooklyn set the tone early by sweeping all three doubles matches in decisive fashion. The top doubles pairing of Allen Mardakhayev and Dylan Augustin earned a dominant 6–0 win, while Dennis Shender and Christopher Vasquez followed with a 6–1 victory at second doubles. Raymond Kazim and James Walsh completed the sweep with a 6–0 result in the third doubles flight.

Carrying momentum into singles play, the Bulldogs continued their dominance, winning all six matches in straight sets. Mardakhayev led the way at first singles with a flawless 6–0, 6–0 performance. Shender secured a 6–2, 6–0 win at second singles, while Walsh posted a strong 6–1, 6–2 victory in the third spot.

Vasquez (6–0, 6–0), Augustin (6–0, 6–0), and Kazim (6–0, 6–0) rounded out the singles lineup with commanding straight-set wins to complete the sweep.
