Game 1 Recap | Brooklyn- 0, Montclair St. - 8 (5 Innings)

The Red Hawks capitalized on an early defensive miscue to spark their big opening frame. After a lead-off strikeout, Montclair State strung together timely hits, aggressive base running, and took advantage of an error to build a 5-0 lead. A two-run double by Leah Monschein capped the rally.

Brooklyn managed its best scoring opportunity in the fourth inning when Lianna Gonzalez and Addy Cook recorded back-to-back singles. However, the Bulldogs were unable to push a run across as Montclair State pitcher Jordan Tarabokia worked out of the jam.

Tarabokia (4-1) was dominant in the circle, tossing a complete-game two-hitter while striking out five and not issuing a walk.

Montclair State added to its lead in the fourth inning when Sophia Alonso tripled and later scored on a wild pitch. The Red Hawks closed out the game in the fifth, plating two more runs highlighted by an RBI double from Juliana Casillas.

For Brooklyn, Gonzalez and Cook accounted for the team's two hits. Kureshma Dhanraj (1-6) took the loss, allowing eight runs (five earned) over 4.1 innings while striking out two.

Montclair State was led offensively by Alonso, who went 2-for-2 with two runs scored and a triple, while Riley Merkel added two hits and scored twice.

Game 2 Recap | Brooklyn- 0, Montclair St. - 4

Brooklyn kept things scoreless early behind a steady outing from starting pitcher, Jessica Bowe. The right-hander worked through early traffic, including a lead-off single and stolen base in the first, to keep the Red Hawks off the board through two innings.

Montclair broke through in the bottom of the third. After a lead-off single and stolen base by Sophia Alonso, Liz Mullen drove in the game's first run with an RBI triple. Jordyn Hester followed with an RBI double to extend the lead to 2-0.

The Red Hawks added to their advantage in the fourth inning on an RBI single from Leah Monschein, making it 3-0. Montclair tacked on one more run in the fifth, capitalizing on a Brooklyn error to push the lead to 4-0.

Despite the loss, Bowe turned in a solid effort in the circle, tossing a complete game while allowing four runs (three earned) on 10 hits with two strikeouts.

Brooklyn's lone hit came off the bat of Addy Cook, who singled in the top of the seventh to break up the no-hit bid.

Montclair's offense was paced by Alonso, who went 2-for-3 with two runs scored and two stolen bases, while Mullen (triple, RBI) and Hester (double, RBI) provided key extra-base hits.
