Match Recap: Men's Tennis |

Bulldogs Edged Out at Sarah Lawrence, 4-3

Bronxville, NY----The Brooklyn College men's tennis suffered a close, 4-3, loss on the road at Sarah Lawrence College on Friday.  BC moves to 3-3 overall with the loss while the Gryphons picked up their first win of the season to go to 1-3.  Next Up: Brooklyn will look to bounce back in conference play against John Jay on Tuesday, 3/31, at the USTA National Tennis Center at 4pm.

Brooklyn found themselves in an early hole after Sarah Lawrence swept all three doubles matches to take a 1-0 lead. The Bulldogs' top duo of Giorgi Zhamutashvili and James Walsh battled but fell 6-4, while the second and third doubles teams were unable to gain momentum against strong Gryphon pairings.

In singles play, Brooklyn mounted an impressive push, claiming three of the six matches. Zhamutashvili led the charge at No. 1 singles with a straight-sets victory, 6-3, 6-3, over Clayton Miller. Allen Mardakhayev followed with a hard-fought three-set win at No. 2 singles, outlasting Jules Voorhoeve in a tightly contested battle, 6-7, 7-5, 6-4.

Dylan Augustin also delivered for the Bulldogs, earning a convincing 6-2, 6-1 victory at the No. 5 spot.

Despite the strong singles performances, Sarah Lawrence secured wins at No. 3, 4, and 6 singles to clinch the match.
