Farmingdale, NY----On Tuesday, the Brooklyn College men's soccer team played to a 1-1 tie in their season opening match at Farmingdale State. Both teams go to 0-0-1 to start the 2026 campaign. Next Up: Brooklyn will get right back at it at home on Wednesday, September 4, as they host St. Joseph's Brooklyn in their Home Opener at BC Field at 4pm.
BC grabbed an early advantage and held the lead for nearly 40 minutes before the Rams equalized in the second half.
Brooklyn controlled much of the opening half, recording eight shots and earning five corner kicks. The Bulldogs broke through in the 30th minute when Adam Moharam converted a penalty kick at 29:44 to give Brooklyn a 1-0 lead.
Brooklyn carried the one-goal advantage into halftime, with goalkeeper Juan Carlos Solis Cazares making one save in the opening 45 minutes.
The Rams came out aggressively in the second half, putting seven shots toward the Brooklyn defense while earning seven corner kicks. Farmingdale State eventually found the equalizer at 68:53 when Lucca Noboa scored to make it a 1-1 contest.
The Bulldogs continued to look for a late winner, but neither team was able to find the back of the net during the final 21 minutes.
Solis Cazares finished the afternoon with two saves, while Farmingdale State goalkeeper, Andrew Verdugo, made one save.
Moharam led Brooklyn offensively with two shots on goal, including his penalty-kick goal. The Bulldogs finished with 12 total shots compared to nine for the Rams.
Brooklyn also held a 5-1 advantage in corner kicks during the first half, while Farmingdale State finished with a 9-5 edge in corners for the match.
