Frank Izzo enters his fifth season in the BC Softball dugout staying on under new head coach Michael Ponsiglione. Coach Izzo is known as an excellent teacher of the game and an excellent evaluator of talent.
Since 1981, Coach Izzo has coached girls and boys from ages 5-17 in travel softball and baseball. In addition, he has conducted various youth and adult skill clinics as well as teaching private lessons.
Izzo is also actively involved with Amity Youth Organization as the head of the field committee. He is engaged in maintaining playing fields and attending executive board meetings as a voting member. In recognition of his hard work and committment, the Amity Youth Organization fields have been designated as “Frank Izzo Stadium”.
A lifetime native of Brooklyn, Izzo was born and raised in Gravesend before later settling in nearby Madison. He married his childhood sweetheart Loraine, and the couple have two children, Nicholas and Susan.
