Jeffrey Noel Named Brooklyn College Male Student-Athlete of the Month – February
Senior forward Jeffrey Noel was a key figure for the Brooklyn College Men’s Basketball team during the month of February, as Noel helped lead the team to a 5-2 record in the month.
Noel posted three games with at least 20 points, highlighted by a 23-point performance in the regular season final against City College of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) rival the City College of New York (CCNY), a 78-65 win. Brooklyn would finish the season with a 9-7 record in the CUNYAC to secure the #4 seed in the conference championships and home court advantage in the quarterfinal round.
Noel had memorable game in the CUNYAC quarterfinals, helping the Bulldogs to a thrilling 79-76 triple overtime victory against borough rival Medgar Evers College in February 17th.
In that game, Noel hit a key-three pointer in the final seconds of regular to force the first overtime. He later picked up a loose ball rebound in the final seconds of the first overtime and converted a fast-break dunk to force a second overtime. Noel finished the game with 20 points and was named the CUNYAC/Con Edison Player of the Game.
For the month, Noel started in all seven games, averaging 17.4 points per game, while shooting 47.3% (43-91) from the field, 45.0% (9-20) from three and 62.8% (27-43) from the free throw line. He also averaged 5.9 rebounds per game, while logging in 32.4 minutes per contest.
For his efforts, Noel has been named the Brooklyn College Male Student-Athlete of the Month, for the month of February.
