Flushing, NY---The Brooklyn College Women's Tennis Team (7-4, 6-1 CUNYAC) defeated Baruch College (5-4, 4-2 CUNYAC) 8-1 on Tuesday afternoon at the National Tennis Center. 

Ruth Perez (EBC Bushwick / Brooklyn, NY), Nadine Alexander (Boys & Girls / Brooklyn, NY) Erika Gil (Fort Hamilton / Brooklyn, NY) and Amalea Sideris (St. Demetrios / Astoria, NY) each won in straight sets for BC, who with the win tookover sole possession of second place in the CUNYAC standings.

Olexandra Ovsiy (American / Dnepropetrousk, Ukraine) and Diana Derks (Herlong / Frankfurt, Germany) each won thrilling matches that had to be determined by a third set tiebreaker.  Ovsiy, defeated Baruch's Miriam Mkrtchyan 6-4, 5-7, 10-4, while Derks knocked off Barbara Lucas, 6-7 (7-4), 6-3, 10-4.

Brooklyn will try to continue their winning ways tomorrow when they host St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) at 4:00 pm.
