Brooklyn, NY---The Brooklyn College Men's Basketball Team (5-3) got their third straight win on Saturday afternoon as they defeated Old Westbury (4-3) by a score of 88-80.
The Bulldogs got some strong play to close the first half, topped off by an
Ahmad Hemingway(Curtis / Brooklyn, NY) jumper with 1 second remaining in the stanza to give his team a 43-37 lead at the break.
Brooklyn extended thier lead in the second half, raising it to as much as 12 points, however Old Westbury would not go down without a fight, as a Hakim George 3-pointer with under 2:00 minutes remaining cut the BC lead to 5.
The Panthers were forced to foul over down the stretch and
Daniel Nisbett (Petrides / Staten Island, NY) was able to seal the win at the foul line, going 6 for 6 in th final two minutes.
Richard Jean-Baptiste (St. John's Prep / Queens, NY) led all scorers with 23 points, while Nisbett also had a big game with 21.
Amil John (South Shore / Brooklyn, NY) chipped in with 12, while
Tyshawn Russell (Holy Cross / netted 10 in the win.
The Bulldogs will have a large break in the schedule as they will resume play on January 2nd at Franklin & Marshall's Tournament in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, where they will take on Manhattanville College.
