Men's Tennis Drops Conference Match To Baruch

Brooklyn, NY---In a match that was rescheduled due to rain, Baruch College (8-2, 5-1 CUNYAC) defeated Brooklyn College (2-4, 2-3 CUNYAC) 9-0 on Monday afternoon at the Roosevelt Courts.

Baruch jumped out to a 3-0 lead after sweeping doubles.  Fedor Khrushchev (#62 / St. Petersburg / Russia) and Tadas Valiukenas (Susan Wagner / Staten Island, NY) teamed up to knock off Brooklyn's Johnny Rolando (Abraham Lincoln / Brookyn, NY) and Kristoffer Flores (St. Francis Prep / Ozone Park, NY) at #1 doubles, 8-3 in the most competitive doubles match of the day.

Khrushchev was also able to defeat Rolando in their #1 singles match by a score of 6-1, 6-3.  The most competitive singles match featured Brooklyn's Johnny Tang (New Utrecht / Brooklyn, NY) and Baruch's Mikheil Sumbatashvili (#102 / Tbilisi, Georgia), as Sumbatashvili prevailed, 6-2, 6-4.

Brooklyn will remain at home tomorrow, April 14th, as they take on CCNY at 3:30 pm.
