Brooklyn, NY---In a rematch of last year's quarterfinal match, the Brooklyn College Tennis Team (2-7, 2-6 CUNYAC) would not be victorious on Friday afternoon as the team dropped a 9-0 decision to the College of Staten Island (8-4, 6-1 CUNYAC).
Kristoffer Flores (St. Francis Prep / Ozone Park, NY) and
Jeffrey Deng (New Utrecht / Oakland Gardnens, NY) teamed up at #3 doubles and put up a valliant effort, but fell to their CSI counterparts, 8-6, in the closest match on the day.
Johnny Rolando (Abraham Lincoln / Brooklyn, NY) played well at #1 singles, but was playing the reigning CUNYAC Player of the Week, Konstantin Trofimovich (James Madison / Ukraine), and fell in straight sets, 6-2, 6-1.
The team will wrap up their regular season next week as they host Polytechnic on Tuesday and then travel to Rutgers-Newark on Thursday and then to Bard College on Friday.
