Guerin Scores 1,000th Career Point In Non-Conference Win Over Yeshiva

Brooklyn, NY---The Brooklyn College Men's Basketball Team (19-6) closed out their regular season with an 87-58 win over Yeshiva University (10-13) on Tuesday Evening at the West Quad Gymnasium.

Senior guard Thomas Guerin (St. Edmund Prep / Brooklyn, NY) who entered the game needing only five points to reach the 1,000 point plateau for his career, was held to just two points in the first half.  Guerin would not take long in the second half to get going, as just under three minutes in he made a basket and was fouled. After converting the free throw, he reached his goal, becoming the second Bulldog this season to get to 1,000 career points.

Guerin finished the game with 10 points and added six boards and four assists to help his team to the 29-point victory.

Richard Jean-Baptiste (St. John's Prep / Queens, NY) led the team with 22 points and 11 rebounds, while Amil John (South Shore / Brooklyn, NY), Ahmad Hemingway (Curtis / Brooklyn, NY) and Tyshawn Russell (Holy Cross / Jamaica, NY) each scored in double-figures, with 11 points a piece.

Martin Leibovich (ORT II / Buenos Aires, Argentina) led yeshiva with 15 points and eight rebounds.

Brooklyn will be back in action on Saturday when they host Lehman College in the first round of the CUNYAC Tournament at 1pm.
