Flushing, NY --- The Brooklyn College Men's Tennis team defeated the Bears of Saint Joseph's College (Brooklyn) by a 6-3 score, in a non-conference match this evening at the USTA National Tennis Center in Flushing Meadows, NY. With the win, the Bulldogs improve to 2-3 overall on the year, while the Bears fall to 0-2 on the season. 

Brooklyn took control of the match early, as the Bulldogs were victorious in four of the six singles action. Junior Vesna Tan (Brooklyn, NY/New Utrecht), senior Jeffrey Deng (Oakland Gardens, NY/New Utrecht), freshman Anthony Sideris (Astoria, NY/St. Demetrios) and junior Qing Hui Tan (Brooklyn, NY/FDR) all notched wins in flights 3, 4, 5 and 6, respectively. V. Tan defeated Anthony Grasso 10-3, Deng downed Javier Bosque 10-2, Sideris cruised to a 10-1 win over Yohan Seo, while Q. Tan also coasted to a 10-1 triumph over Derrick Akwei. 

V. Tan and Sideris later teammed up to pick up the win in number 2 doubles, handing the duo of Grasso and Bosque an 8-1 defeat. The Bulldogs also took a win in number 3 doubles by default. 

Brooklyn is back in action this Friday, April 2nd, when the Bulldogs will host the Yellow Jackets of the New York City College of Technology in a CUNY Athletic Conference contest. Match is slated to begin at 3:30 pm.
