Brooklyn, NY --- The Brooklyn College Men's Tennis team shut out the Lightning of Lehman College by a score of 9-0, in CUNYAC action this afternoon. The Bulldogs even their overall record to 4-4 and go to 2-3 in the CUNYAC, while the Lightning fall to 1-6 on the season and 1-4 in the CUNYAC.

Anthony Sideris (Astoria, NY/St. Demetrios) was too much for Larry Harvey and Joseph Veras to overcome, as Deng/Sideris took down Harvey/Veras, 8-1 in number 3 doubles. Another senior/freshman duo in
Johnny Rolando (Brooklyn, NY/Abraham Lincoln) and
Anthony Chan (Flushing, NY/Archbishop Molloy) also worked well for Brooklyn, as Rolando/Chan downed Shiva Devarinti and Miguel Carela, 8-6 in number 1 doubles. Number two doubles featured a seesaw battle, as junior
Vesna Tan (Brooklyn, NY/New Utrecht) and freshman
Matthew Micharlsen (Garden City, NY/Garden City) outlasted David Chang and Marcos Coto-Batres, 9-7.
Brooklyn would continue to roll in singles action as Rolando, Chan, Micharlsen and Deng, all easily defeated their opposition in number 1, 2, 3 and 6 singles, respectively. Tan took home a well earned victory in number 4 singles, getting the best of Carela 7-6 (7-2), 6-3. The marathon match of the evening came in number 5 singles, as junior
Kristoffer Flores (Ozone Park, NY/St. Francis Prep) outdueled Veras in three sets, 4-6, 7-6 (9-7), 6-4.
Brooklyn will enjoy a week long break, as the Bulldogs return to action next Tuesday, April 13th, when they will play host to CUNYAC rival City College of New York. Match is slated for a 3:30 pm start.
