Women’s Swimming Grounded by Hunter

Brooklyn, NY --- The Brooklyn College Women's Swimming & Diving team dropped a City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) match to the Hawks of Hunter College by a score of 127.50 – 67.50 earlier tonight at the West Quad Center Pool.

With the loss, the Bulldogs fall to an even 2-2 overall and 0-2 in the CUNYAC; while the Hawks improve to 5-2 overall and 3-0 in the conference.

The highlight of the night came in the 100-Yard Freestyle as Brooklyn's Megan Pendergast and Hunters Tiffany Mango finished the race with an identical time of 1:02.95, thus tying for first place.

Pendergast would also finish in first place in the 500-Yard Freestyle with a time of 7:05.88.

Catherine Chan picked up first place points for BC in the 100-Yard Breaststroke, while the quartet of Electra Telesford, Viktoriya Aranchiy, Tonia Jerrick and Amanda Martino earned first place points in the 200-Yard Freestyle Relay.

Other notable performers for Brooklyn included Valentina Monroy, who came in second place in both the 200-Yard IM and 100-Yard Backstroke; Angela Redekop who came in second in the 1,000-Yard Freestyle and Jenny Lee who finished second in the 100-Yard Butterfly.

Brooklyn returns to action this Friday, December 2nd, as both the Men's and Women's Swimming & Diving teams will take on CUNYAC rival York College. The meet is scheduled for 6:00 pm.
