Brooklyn Women's Swimming & Diving Participates in Metropolitan Championships

Bulldogs Take Seventh Place

PISCATAWAY, NJ ----- Coming into the first day of the Metroplitan Collegiate Swimming and Diving Championships, the Brooklyn College women's swimming and diving team would continue the postseason after a solid finish in the CUNYAC Championships, where they would finish fourth. Facing off against some unfamiliar competition, they would finish the day placing in seventh place for the METS Championships.

In the first event of the finals, the Bulldogs team would finish seventh, finishing with a time of 1:59.61 in the 200 yard freestyle.

Antonietta Baerga would get a crack at an individual event, finishing in ninth place with a time of 2:35.57 in the 200 yard individual medley.

Event 7 would have Elizabeth Bailey-Hamm finishing in the top five, placing fourth place out of twenty-four swimmers, posting a time of 25.63 in the 50 yard freestyle.

Up next, the Brooklyn College women's team continues their postseason on Valentine's Day, Saturday, February 14th with events scheduled at 10:45am and the second half at 5:30pm at the Rutgers University Aquatics center in Piscataway, New Jersey.
