Men’s Tennis Falls to Lehman, 6-3

Bronx, NY --- The Brooklyn College Men's Tennis team dropped a City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) match earlier today, Monday, March 28th, in the Bronx, NY to the Lehman College Lightning by a score of 6-3. With the loss, the Bulldogs fall to 0-5 overall and 0-4 in conference play, while the Lightning improve to 1-2 overall and 1-2 in league play.

The match was originally scheduled for Friday, March 25th; however, it would be postponed to today due to Brooklyn's late arrival from transportation issues. The Bulldogs would be penalized by forfeiting all three doubles matches.

For BC, sophomore Matthew Micharlsen and freshman Deshi Wu each took home hard fought victories as both players battled to third set super tie breaker wins.

Micharlsen downed his opponent Michael Tal at #2 singles 6-4, 5-7, 1-0 (14-12), while Wu won his first collegiate match at #6 singles over Ali Saleh 7-5, 6-7 (5-7), 1-0 (12-10).

Senior Qing Hui Tan was also victorious at #5 singles, as he defeated Marcos Coto-Batres 6-4, 6-3.

Brooklyn will be back in action tomorrow, Tuesday, March 29th, as the Bulldogs will travel to Farmingdale, NY to take on the Rams of Farmingdale State College in a non-conference match scheduled for 4:00 pm.
