#7 Men’s Tennis Falls to #2 CSI in CUNYAC Quarterfinals

Staten Island, NY --- The Brooklyn College Men's Tennis team had its 2011 season ended in the City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) Quarterfinals, as the Bulldogs fell to the Dolphins of the College of Staten Island by a score of 5-0.

The match began with doubles play, as CSI cruised through all three doubles flights to take a commanding 3-0 lead. The paring of Nicholas Zikos and Patrick Thomas defeated the tandem of Anthon Chan and Vesna Tan, 8-1, at #1 doubles, while the duo of Joseph Taranto and Daniel Ursomanno and the team of Massaru Takaki and Georgio Dano each won their respective match by an 8-2 score, at #2 and #3 doubles.

Zikos and Thomas continued their solid play into singles action, as Zikos was victorious at #1 singles, 6-1, 6-0 and Thomas won at #2 singles, 6-2, 6-1; ending the match at 5-0.

BC finishes the 2011 season at 4-10, while the Dolphins improve to 16-4 on the year and move on to the Semifinals round of the CUNYAC Championships.
