Box Score

Brooklyn, NY --- The Brooklyn College Men's Tennis team dropped a non-conference match earlier today against Bard College, 6-3, at home on the Roosevelt Courts. The loss drops the Bulldogs to 0-2 overall on the season, while Bard improves to 2-3 overall on the year.

The visiting Raptors would take the early 2-1 lead after coming out victorious in two of the three doubles matches.

Bard easily took the #1 and #2 doubles flights by scores of 8-3 and 8-0, respectively; however, Brooklyn would battle at the #3 doubles position to edge out a gutsy 9-7 win. The Brooklyn tandem of Robin Varughese and Anthony Sideris outlasted the pairing of Dashiell Flach and Mehdi Rahmati in the marathon match that lasted nearly two hours.

The Raptors would continue to build on their lead by coming out on top in four of the six singles matches, en route to its 6-3 win.

After enduring his doubles match, Sideris notched his second win of the day, a 6-1, 6-1 victory at #6 singles against Rahmati. Deshi Wu was also victorious for Brooklyn in singles play, earning a hard fought win at #5 singles, 6-4, 6-3 over Flach.

Brooklyn will be back in action on Tuesday, March 20th, as the Bulldogs will take on conference rival Baruch College. The match is scheduled for a 4:00 pm start at the USTA National Tennis Center in Flushing, NY.
