Flushing, NY --- The Brooklyn College Men's Tennis team lost its 2012 City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) opener this afternoon at the USTA National Tennis Center in Flushing, NY against the Bearcats of Baruch College by a score of 9-0.
With the loss, the Bulldogs fall to 0-3 overall on the season and 0-1 in the CUNYAC; while the Bearcats improve to 5-1 overall on the year and 2-0 in the conference with the win.
Baruch jumped out to an early 3-0 lead by taking all three doubles matches. The Bearcats would build on their momentum from doubles and continue to dominate in singles play by sweeping all six flights en route to its 9-0 win.
Brooklyn will look to regroup quickly, as the Bulldogs return to the court tomorrow, Wednesday, March 21st, as BC will play host to non-conference foe Albertus Magnus College. The match is scheduled for a 4:00 pm start at the Roosevelt Courts on the Brooklyn campus.
