Jamaica, NY --- The Brooklyn College Men's Tennis team lost its final City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) match on Friday afternoon on the road, as the Bulldogs fell to the Cardinals of York College by a score of 6-3.
With the loss, BC drops to 0-12 overall on the season, while concluding the regular season with a 0-7 mark in conference play. York moves to 4-7 overall on the year and concludes the regular season with a 3-4 record in the CUNYAC.
The Cardinals would take an early 2-1 advantage after doubles play, picking up victories at #1 and #2 doubles, by scores of 8-2 and 8-5, respectively. The Brooklyn duo of
Tashfeen Afzal and
Anthony Sideris picked up the lone win for BC at #3 doubles by a score of 8-2.
York would continue its solid play in singles, taking four of the six flights en route to its 6-3 win.
Yeshen Shang (6-0, 6-2) and Sideris (6-0, 6-1) both earned singles wins at #5 and #6, respectively.
Brooklyn will look to close out the 2013 regular season on Monday, April 22
nd, as the Bulldogs will take on borough foe St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn). The match is scheduled for a 5:00 pm start at the Roosevelt Courts on the BC campus.
