Brooklyn, NY --- The Brooklyn College Men's Tennis team will be in action later today in the quarterfinals round of the City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) Championships, as the Bulldogs will take on the Bearcats of Baruch College.
The match is scheduled for a 3:30 pm start time at the National Tennis Center in Flushing, NY.
Brooklyn (1-12, 0-7 CUNYAC) enters the championships as the #8 seed, while Baruch (10-4, 7-0 CUNYAC) comes into the championships as the heavy favorites as the #1 seed.
The Brooklyn/Baruch winner will advance to the semifinals round on Sunday, April 28th, which will also be played at the National Tennis Center beginning at 3:00 pm. The championship final is scheduled for Thursday, May 2nd at 5:00 pm, also at the National Tennis Center.
Leading the way for the Bulldogs this season has been the play of freshman
Andrew Au, who has posted a solid 6-2 overall record in singles play. Au has been the most successful at #5 singles, where he is a perfect 4-0 on the year.
Tying Au for the team lead in wins this season is senior
Anthony Sideris, who has an even 6-6 overall mark in singles flights, splitting time between the #4, #5 and #6 spots.

Davis Zabiyaka, junior
Deshi Wu, sophomore
Marvin Gill and freshman
Tashfeen Afzal will all need to make major contributions at the top of the lineup in order for Brooklyn to score an upset victory.
