Men’s Tennis Edged Out by Sarah Lawrence, 5-4

Bronxville, NY --- The Brooklyn College Men's Tennis team came up just short in its non-conference match on Tuesday evening on the road against the Gryphons of Sarah Lawrence College, as the Bulldogs fell 5-4.

With the loss, Brooklyn drops to 0-8 overall on the season; while Sarah Lawrence improves to 2-4 overall on the year.

Coming in doubles play, the Gryphons would take an early 2-1 advantage by picking up wins at #2 and #3 doubles by scores of 8-3 and 8-0, respectively. BC would take its lone doubles win at the #1 spot, as the Brooklyn duo of Deshi Wu and Andrew Au defeated the Sarah Lawrence tandem of Phil London and Aman Banerji, 8-6.

The 2-1 edge in doubles would come out to be the difference maker, as the teams would split singles play, which each winning three matches apiece.

For the visiting Bulldogs, Wu was victorious at #2 singles (10-4), while Anthony Sideris (10-4) and Au (10-6) picked up wins at #4 and #5 singles, respectively.

Brooklyn will return to courts this Friday, April 12th, as the Bulldogs will travel to the Bronx, NY to take on the Lightning of Lehman College in a City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) matchup. The match is slated for a 4:00 pm start time.
