Staten, Island, NY---The Brooklyn College Bulldogs Men's Tennis Team edged out the host Staten Island Dolphins on Thursday evening, 5-4, to improve to 6-5, 5-2 CUNYAC on the season, and clinch the #3 seed in the upcoming CUNYAC Championships that are set to begin on Friday, April 25th.  The Dolphins now fall to 2-7, 2-3 CUNYAC on the season, a year removed from their appearance in the conference final in 2013.

Stanley Purcell won his #3 singles match over Austin Kapetanakis, 6-4, 6-3, while Robin Varughese won his #4 match, also in straight sets, 6-1, 6-2 over Jack Benjamin.

Brandon Green was not to be out-done, as he also won in straight sets, 6-0, 6-4, over Mitchell Voloshin in their #5 singles match-up.

"We wanted to close out the CUNYAC regular season with a win and lock up the #3 seed and we were able to do just that," said Head Coach Ahmad Odetalla.  "We've got a couple of tough non-conference matches coming up to prepare us for the upcoming Championship Tournament."

The first of those two non-conference matches will be at home on Saturday at 12 pm, when the Bulldogs will face the Rams of Farmingdale State on the Roosevelt Courts.
