Box ScoreBrooklyn, NY---The #4 seeded Brooklyn College Bulldogs (6-9) fell to the #5 seeded John Jay Bloodhounds (6-9), 5-2,
in the Quarterfinal Round of the CUNYAC/HSS Men's Tennis Championship Tournament on Friday afternoon. The Bloodhounds will advance to the
Semifinal Round and will face the #1 seed, Hunter College Hawks, who had a first round bye, on Sunday at the USTA National Tennis Center in Flushing at 1 pm.
Today was also the team's senior day, as last year players
Marvin Gill,
Charles Stevens,
Asher Korycka,
Jordan Ovadia,
Andrew Mendelsohn and
Trevaughn Daley were honored prior to the match.
"These six players have meant a lot to this team, two of whom, Chad and Marvin, are our co-captains," said Head Coach
Ahmad Odetalla. "This group will be sorely missed next season, but I'm proud of their achievements and for having gotten the opportunity to coach them."
John Jay took a 2-1 lead after doubles play and did not look back, as they were able to take three of the first four singles decisions, to take the 5-2 victory and advance to Sunday's semifinal round.
Brooklyn will end their season with a 6-9 record.
