Bulldogs Cruise to Non-Conference Victory Over Farmingdale, 69-44

WEST QUAD CENTER Brooklyn, NY---The Brooklyn College women's basketball program improved to 16-7 overall on the season this evening, defeating non-conference foe, Farmingdale State 69-44 for their third win in a row.  It was the Bulldogs' final regular season home game.  FSC drops to 7-14 with the loss. 

Quarter Break-Down
   1st Period
  • Played evenly through the eight minutes 7:30 minutes of the game, the Bulldogs took the lead for good on an Alexandra Moogan made jumper to give BC the 11-10 lead with 2:37 remaining.
  • BC extended the lead to 17-10 on back-to-back Justine Vento three-point makes.
  • With both teams scoreless in the final :55 seconds, BC held on to the 17-10 lead.
    2nd Period
  • BC took their first double-digit lead of the game in the first 27 seconds, taking a 20-10 lead on a Taylor Gallagher three-point make.
  • Brooklyn led by double-digits through the rest of the first half, leading by as many as 16 points.
  • FSC knocked the BC lead down to 13 before heading into halftime.
    3rd Period
  • A Maya Agee-Thomas lay-in extended the BC lead to 20 points with 4:31 remaining
  • Karen Mak scored a lay-up to give the Bulldogs the 56-33 advantage heading into the final period.
    4th Period
  • The Bulldogs led by 20 points or better for the remainder of the contest.
  • BC led by as many as 28 points. 
Stat Break-Down
  • The Bulldogs shot 5-12 (38.1%) from beyond the arc for the game to Farmingdale's 9.5%.
  • BC had 30 offensive rebounds to the Rams' six.
  • Brooklyn forced 26 Ram turnovers to the Bulldogs 17. 
  • Brooklyn's bench outscored Farmingdale's 14-9.
Leading the Bulldogs
  • Junior forward Olivia Colbert led the team in scoring and rebounding with a 14-point, 13-rebound double-double.
  • Maya Agee-Thomas flirted with a double-double, adding 13 points and nine rebounds.
  • Justine Vento ended the game with 12 points on 4-7 from behind the arc.
  • Junior guard Taylor Gallagher finished with a team-high four assists.
