Wayne, NJ---On Wednesday, the Brooklyn College men's tennis team ended their season by falling to John Jay in the CUNYAC Championships Quarterfinal Round, 5-1. Entering the tournament as the No. 6 seed, the Bulldogs finish the season with an overall record of 4-8 including a 3-4 conference record during the regular season. No. 3 seed John Jay will advance to the semifinal round at Queens College on Sunday. The Bloodhounds have been on a roll as of late, winning their fourth CUNYAC match in a row. John Jay avenged a March 31st loss to the Bulldogs with yesterday's postseason victory.
With the first team to notch five victories in the team match in singles and doubles to advance to the semifinals, the Bloodhounds took a 2-1 lead winning at No. 1 and No. 3 doubles 8-5 and 8-2 respectively. Brooklyn's No. 2 doubles pair of
Elliot Haddad and
Albert Benjamin gave the Bulldogs some hope heading into singles competition, winning 8-5. However, the Bloodhounds worked quickly and won in No.1, No. 4, and No. 6 singles to secure the victory before the Bulldogs managed a win in the other singles matches.
